Recife is a big and chaotic city, although many streets are calms and tree-lined. But the buildings grow suddenly everywhere, stacked. It is a city of contradictions.
I have started to fall in love with Recife due to your blog which I discovered only couple of days ago! But, say, how safe is to live there? I have heard that Brasilian cities are pretty dangerous but that's maybe more counts to Rio and San Paulu? Greetings from Riga!
